Nautilus Workshop at the second largest mining company

December 19th, 2006. Companhia Vale do Rio Doce - CVRD, the second largest mining company in the world, launches its 1st Workshop for Nautilus systems users all over Brazil.

The group has adopted Nautilus/ Thermo Fisher solution since 2001 to manage all its research & development and quality data along its entire production chain, from extraction and processing to shipments of iron ore for export. The system is present in over 30 laboratories of six different types in over 15 sites.

The 1st CVRD Nautilus Workshop has the support of Cybertécnica, the company responsible for implementing and servicing the system.

Brought together in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, users from several different business areas within CVRD are taking part in the event in order to exchange experiences and disseminate best practices involving the use of Nautilus. The workshop is the first step to formalize CVRD Nautilus user group activities and to promote an ongoing exchange of information.

This is also a good opportunity to further consolidate the relationship between the final users of the different CVRD units, the IT department and solution providers aiming at continuous improvement and innovation in process management.
