PI System Management Tools (PI SMT)
A set of applications to administer the PI System from client PCs.
The PI System Management Tools (PI SMT) are included with every PI System server on NT, UNIX, and OpenVMS. Specific System Management Tools are described below.
PI HealthCheck
PI HealthCheck gives users a point-and-click overview of one or more PI Systems. It creates a tree structure displaying details of PI servers and interface nodes (computer locations in a network) that can be viewed by clicking on the node names. It can be configured to report information about any mix of PI home nodes (or locations), PINet nodes, and PIonPINet nodes. HealthCheck is available as an application, an HTML file, and an ActiveX control.
PI Interface Configuration Utility (PI ICU)
The PI Interface Configuration Utility (PI ICU) is an application that aids in PI System management by consolidating the setup and configuration options required for new and existing PI Interfaces.
Any new or existing PI Interface can be configured and maintained using PI ICU. It uses the PI Module Database on PI UDS as a host for its interface startup information. Currently, PI 3.3 on Windows NT or Windows 2000 is required on the host PI server. In order to access the interface startup information stored in the PI Module Database, PI SDK 1.1 must be installed on the machine where the PI Interface and PI ICU run.
PI Interface Status Utility (PI ISU)
PI Interface Status Utility (PI ISU) alerts users when no new or fresh process data are being received from a given PI Interface. (PI Interfaces are the bi-directional connection between the PI System and plant control systems.)
PI Module Database Editor (PI ModuleDB Editor)
PI Module Database Editor (PI ModuleDB Editor) is a utility to manage PI Module Databases on multiple PI Servers. It is utilized from a Web page and viewed in a Web browser.
PI PointBuilder
PI PointBuilder allows users to create and edit points, which are individual measurements or readings.
PI Real-Time SQC Alarm Manager
PI Real-Time SQC Alarm Manager allows users to easily manage their complete set of PI Real-Time SQC Alarms without having to learn how to configure PI points.
PI TagConfigurator
PI TagConfigurator is an Excel spreadsheet add-in used to create new tags and to modify the attributes of existing tags.
